THE INAUGURAL QUEENS MARATHON

Queens, the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world, welcomes you to Flushing Meadows Corona Park, our most prestigious park to be a part of history, as The Queens Distance Runners proudly present, “The Inaugural Queens Marathon” on Saturday, April 30th 2016! Lonely Planet named Queens the best tourism destination in 2015 and we will do our best to help Queens defend it’s title in 2016 with this Inaugural Marathon.
Cost: This race is priced at $80 through 12/31, $95. through 3/31 and $125 until online registration closes. Raceday registration, if available, will be $150.
Course: This is a 5 loop course. See tentative course map here. This course will be a USATF Certified Boston Qualifier.
Awards: Awards and prize money will be given to the top three male and female runners overall as follows: $100 for 1st Place, $50 for 2nd Place, and $25 for 3rd Place. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.
It’s In Queens: Runners Care Package: Queens Distance has partnered up with the Queens Tourism Councilas the QTC will be commissioned to provide all Queens Marathon registrants with discounts, coupons and vouchers that will be valid during your stay in Queens! Registration will also include an official Tech Shirt for The Inaugural Queens Marathon.
Time Limit: The official time limit is 6 hours.
Packet Pickup: Pre-race packet pickup TBD. Race-day packet pickup will be available at the start line until 7:30 AM on race day.
Directions: Take the 7 train to Willets Point/Mets. Please check MTA Trip Planner for up to date and detailed mass transit directions and Google Maps for driving directions. Parking is limited at all of our events. We strongly encourage you to use mass transit.
About Queens Distance Runners: Queens Distance Runners is a nonprofit 501 (c)3 Event Management Company under the group exemption provided by Road Runners Club of America.
We are a grassroots organization focused on attracting tourism to the growing borough of Queens, a county that is highly family oriented and proudly holds large groups of immigrants. Our mission is to provide a public good by creating and promoting race events that develops communities, small businesses and the state of fitness of our local residents. We are a group of Queens natives that know the neighborhoods and community leaders very well.
