About This Activity
The Cooper Tire Centennial 5-Miler was introduced in July 2014 to commemorate the company's 100th anniversary in the tire business. Now in its third year, we have decided to add a new and exciting twist, we will be running in the evening! Please join us for the third annual Cooper Tire Centennial 5-Miler on Friday, July 22 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Cooper Tire Track and Field Complex at Findlay High School.
Also new for this year, we are having live music by Cherry Bombs Findlay High School marching band, Pantasia, and Null Set, food from Olers, and refreshments from Kona Ice! Runners will get a free meal, and everyone else can purchase food, with proceeds going towards the Centennial Scholarship.
Cooper invites walkers and runners of all ages and skill levels to participate. At Cooper, we are proud of where we've been and confident of where we are going... come along with us!
Funds are being raised on behalf of the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Centennial Scholarship, a component of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. The scholarship provides financial support for the children of U.S. Cooper employees who are high school seniors pursuing further education at a technical college, university, or other institution. The focus is on students who intend to pursue a career related to manufacturing. To date, Cooper has awarded 8 scholarships worth $1,000 each!
Starting at the Cooper Tire Track and Field Complex behind Findlay High School, runners will weave their way past the baseball and soccer fields and onto Howard Street. Turn at Broad Avenue, and we're on our way to Cooper! Follow Broad Avenue and Western Avenue all the way to Lima Avenue to see Cooper's Technical Center and Corporate Offices. We'll continue down Lima Avenue and make the turnaround at the Plant entrance. From there it is the same route back to the High School with a grand finish on the Cooper Track!
This is a chip-timed race. Participants must be able to finish within the alloted time. No pets please.
