About This Activity
AMELIA ISLAND WALK - SATURDAY, MAY 28th.
NOTE: Registration closes at 11:00 PM on Saturday, May 14th.
This is an opportunity to walk the island for exercise, enjoyment and appreciation of the beauty surrounding us. The Amelia Island Walk - Vida Series begins at Fernandina Harbor Marina. It ends at Amelia Island State Park parking lot on the southernmost end of Amelia Island off of A1A. It is approximately 15 miles with 2 water refill and rest stops along the way. At every mile there will be a pause to notice the beauty and nature of the trees, the creatures, the ocean, etc... We will be walking in the historic village, Egan's Creek Greenway, the beach, and on the Amelia Island Trail.
The event takes place on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 28th. Plan on 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM for the walk.
If you want to do a shorter walk than 15 miles, you can choose to stop after 5 or 10. (NOTE: If you choose the 5 or 10 mile walks, you will need to arrange for transportation back to your car. The 5 miles ends at Sliders Seaside Grille. The 10 miles ends at Burney Beach Park. The 15 miles ends at Amelia Island State Park parking lot and we will provide transportation back from there to the Fernandina Harbor Marina.)
One free t-shirt for registered participants plus a goody bag from the sponsors. Additional t-shirts are available for purchase.
