About This Activity
Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host its 2nd Annual Reaching Educational Dreams (RED) 5K Run/Walk event on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 8:30 am. We are a private, not-for-profit, public service organization. Our purpose is to maintain and embrace the vision of the Founders through a myriad of public service projects that have a profound effect on our community. These projects support the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Educational Development, Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Political Awareness and Involvement and International Awareness and Involvement. Some of the specific services provide numerous scholarships, youth mentoring activities, events to benefit the homeless and domestic violence awareness, just to name a few. Registration Package Pick-up:
March 27th, 4 -6 pm at Trinity Christian Stores located in the Westin Shopping Center at the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Raeford Road. Address: 9527 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304. Telephone Number: (910) 487-0524. Participants who are not available to pick-up packages on March 27th may pick-up packages on March 28th on site at 7:15 am.
Awards: Awards will be presented to the top male and female overall and top male and female in the following age divisions: 11- 14, 15-19, 20-25, 26-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.
Medals: Finishing medals will be awarded to pre-registered runners who complete the event
Early registration ends at 11:59 pm on Saturday, January 31st. Price increases at 12:00 am on Sunday, Feburary 1, 2015. On-line pre-registration closes at 11:59 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Participants may register at Packet Pick-up and Race Day. Shirts and sizes are guaranteed to participants on race day who are registered by Sunday, March 9, 2015.
The school, club or organization with the largest number of registrants by 11:59 pm on March 26, 2015 will be given the award for Top Group Participation. Group members must include their group name with registration.
All Parking will be at the Medical Arts Center, The Train Station and the large lot on Maiden Lane. Be sure to cross the railroad tracks on the crosswalk at Hay St.
There will be no parking at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum or The N.C. State Veterans Park
