About This Activity
Join the City of Fayetteville, the Fayetteville Police Department and the Fayetteville Running Club as they "Run United" to benefit the United Way of Cumberland County and local youth running programs. This is a 5k Fun Run and Walk with a Zombie theme. You will start the course with two flags and the object is to finish with both of them. If a Zombie captures one or both of your flags, you will have the opportunity to "recharge" at one of our aid stations. Join us for this fun event to benefit your community! This event will start in front of the pavilion at Honeycutt Park on Devers Street at 5:30 PM. You will run down Devers Street and around the bend where you will then make a right turn onto Skye Drive. You will continue on Skye Drive to Summertime Road, where you will turn left. Continue following Summertime Road to the mid-way point at Ehco Lane. You will follow the same course back to the finish line. We will have water stations set up at the 3/4-mile, mid-point and 2 1/4-mile markers. There will be bottled water and fruit available for everyone at the finish line... and maybe a few extra goodies! **********
Day of registration / packet pick-up begins at 4:00 in the pavilion at Honeycutt Park. This is individual registration only. No group registrations will be accepted after October 22nd when online registration is closed. Limited parking is available at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, but there is plenty of parking available behind the Junior League offices (entrance off Fort Bragg Road) opposite of the baseball fields. Get there early! Costumes are not required, but are encouraged - we will have prizes for the best costumes! Everyone is eligible, including your pets. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on the course, but must be kept on a leash at all times. You are responsible for picking up after them.
Strollers are welcome! Children riding in strollers do not need to be registered. We will have children's tshirt sizes available for all children that are pre-registered. Day of registrations will receive tshirts on a first come, first serve basis. If we run out of shirts, we will order more, which can be picked up after the event at a designated location.
Pre-race pick-up will be held on Friday, October 24th from 4:00 - 6:30 PM in front of the Kiwanis Rec Center at 352 Devers Street. We will be set up outside the main entrance. Online registration closes on October 22nd.
Group registrations are available online only until October 22nd. You must have at least 5 people register together. The cost is $25 per person for each team member.
