5K Run/Walk Adult
5K Run/Walk Kids
About This Activity
The inaugural Shamrock Sprint is a 5K road race through the bucolic Greenfield Hill area of Fairfield, CT and an after-race party hosted on-site at the CT Audubon Nature Center 9:30 am - 12 pm. Race will be held rain or shine. Trophies, awards, and medals for the fparticipants will be provided. Lower pricing for children ages 14 and under.
The first 150 JPFF Shamrock Sprint participants are guaranteed to receive a race t-shirt, medal and giveaways.
The post-race party will include many family-friendly activities including children's games, bounce house and the appearance of characters from the Star Wars 501st Legion Connecticut Garrison!
Although the run takes place in Greenfield ‘Hill’, our 5K (3.1 Mile) course is not hilly! It is a great course with a slight roll up and a lot more flat roads to speed through. Our gentle course is shady and beautiful with sweeping stone walls, horses, open space, and tree-lined streets -- a truly picturesque setting!
This race is a fundraiser to benefit the John Patrick Flanagan Foundation, a local non-profit founded in 2009 in memory of John Flanagan who lost his battle to cancer at the age of 44. JPFF's mission is to help vulnerable children and families by supporting charities that provide the direction, education and healthy environment that vulnerable children and families need to have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We have enabled nearly 3,000 inner-city children to go on field trips to the CT Audubon Society in Fairfield as part of the John Patrick Flanagan Trailblazers program. We've funded programming and college preparation assistance for inner-city teens, helped economically disadvantaged immigrant women and children learn English and life skills, helped children battling cancer, supported children affected by HIV/AIDS, sponsored volunteer attorneys who work to place children in safe permanent homes and given scholarships to children who have a financial need as well as children who have lost a parent to cancer.
Thank you for your support for the John Patrick Flanagan Foundation. JPFF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Tax ID number 26-4783810. For more information about JPFF, visit our website www.jpff.org.
