About This Activity
Welcome to 7200'... And Climbing. The Area's Only High Altitude Triathlon. Tri it High
Set in the foothills of the Uinta Mountains, a short drive from Ogden or Salt Lake City, Utah, the Thin Air Triathlon is a unique and fun challenge for triathletes of all levels. Test your endurance and determination in this area's only high altitude triathlon. With both a Sprint and Olympic distance, this family friendly event is equally suited for both beginners and seasoned elite triathletes alike.
Event details and schedule
The swim is an open water out and back in Sulphur Creek Reservoir. Temperatures average 60-63 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended but not required.
You will be treated to grand vistas of the Uinta mountains as you bike along the Scenic Byway on Highway 150. An ever so slight incline on the out will give you a fast return to transition to the run. Stern Warning to Follow! This is an open course and you must follow all traffic laws and use common sense when turning around. No headphones allowed on bike course.
Time to finish strong... or maybe just finish, with an out and back run along quiet country roads with the beauty of the Uinta's. 2k of the run is asphalt with the remainder on maintained dirt roads.
