Almost everyone knows someone who has diabetes. An estimated 23.6 million people in the United States—7.8 percent of the population—have diabetes, a serious, lifelong condition. Of those, 17.9 million have been diagnosed, and 5.7 million have not yet been diagnosed. In 2007, about 1.6 million people ages 20 or older were diagnosed with diabetes.
About 1 in 3 U.S. adults—or 67 million people—have high blood pressure. Only about half (47%) of people with high blood pressure have their condition under control. This common condition increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, two leading causes of death for Americans. Join us at the Eutawville 5K to help our cause and support your community.
There are places to park around Eutawville Town Hall, but Old Highway #6 will be closed off an hour prior to the start time. Race participants will be able to park near the Eutawville Post Office and other areas near there. If you plan to run, you might consider parking away from the finish line though since you will finish well before the walkers and might not get out right away otherwise.
