About This Activity

While the details of the race are kept secret until a week before the race, we can tell you that past races have averaged between 5 and 6 miles on foot. Along the way, teams of two complete 20 challenge stations that may be as simple as solving a puzzle or reciting Miranda Rights to as difficult as building a 2-person tent or rappelling off a tower. While typical runners may take 2+ hours to complete the race, the overall winning times range from 1:30:00 to 1:40:00.

The race attracts serious competitors - marathoners, triathletes, adventure racers - and amateurs alike. Awards are given for the fastest times in several categories - male/male, male/female, female/female and parent/child - but many of the participants claim they race for the funky challenges that get thrown their way, like "Blow Putt" and "Shot in the Dark."

At the end of the day, racers have learned a little more about the host city, enjoyed an amazing workout, participated as a team and, in some cases, worked with other teams to complete a challenge. Gathered in the park for the Finish Line Festival at the end of the race, participants and volunteers trade smiles and laughs about the day's challenges, knowing that their wild day has also benefited worthy local charities.

Event details and schedule

Date and Time to be determined
Reunion Bank - 1892 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778

Your packet will include pre-race instructions, two bib numbers and two shirts. You may pick up other teams’ packets for them.

Unfortunately, there is NO RACE DAY packet pick-up, unless your team is from more than 20 miles from Eustis.

If you are traveling farther than 20 miles, you MUST ARRIVE 90 minutes early on race day to pick up your race packet at the Start Line Area. Please come to Ferran Park to pick up your packet before heading to the start line.

Each team member must wear a bib number on race day.  Pin the bib to your front of your race shirt, which must be worn on race day.  Make sure you confirm your start time on your bib number.

One bib will be used to verify that you have completed each challenge.  Designated volunteers at each challenge will check off your bib.

One of the Bibs has a radio chip on it. Protect and keep it on there!

Race t-shirts, with bib numbers pinned on front, MUST be worn by all participants on race day. Your shoes will likely take a beating, so don't wear those brand new $100 Nikes. Don’t forget your sense of humor! The race is, above all else, really really fun!

You must have an ID with you at post race if you want to drink beer. The only ID check for beer this year will be at post race.  Every racer will receive tickets for drinks and food when they complete the race.  Your drink tickets are redeemable at the beer tent or non-alcoholic beverages.  Your food tickets will entitle each team member to a meal.

An ideal location for family and spectators is the race start area as many challenges are close. The race course map will be published the day before the race, so give it to family and friends so they can pick out places to watch you.

At the starting line, you will be ordered by your starting time. 3 to 4 teams will start every minute, beginning at 9:00 am.

NO ROADS WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE RACE. Please stay on the sidewalk and obey all signals from police officers and crossing guards. Please cross only at a signal or stoplight.

The course may have steep sections or rough, rocky terrain. Please GO SLOW and watch your footing.

You must obey all orders given by Law Enforcement, safety personnel and volunteers wearing race-provided t-shirts.

Pay attention to signs along the race course. Some of them may feature interesting facts that you will want to remember

While your team bib numbers will be the same, only one is meant to be marked at each station. Make sure you get the correct bib marked at each challenge station before you move on.

The course will close at 2:30PM.

The race will be modified to deal with weather issues, but it is considered a “rain or shine” race, so come ready to race in any kind of weather!
