About This Activity

The Annual Horsethief Run (formerly the CPA Run) is directed by the EHS Cross Country coaches and parents in honor of the early settlers of Eudora. CPA stands for the Central Protective Agency, a division of the Anti-Horsethief Association, and was representative of a group of citizens who banded together to bring law and order to early Eudora. It is with this spirit we put on this race! This race is a part of the MARA racing circuit. Find out more at

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The race is run on pavement, starting at 10th and Main Street, downtown Eudora. The course  is a USATF certified 5K (USATF #KS09039BG) and is a mix of flat and hills, with a downhill finish.

Event schedule and times

Race-day registration begins at 6:15 a.m. and ends at 7:15 a.m. T-shirt not guaranteed with late and race-day registration.

AWARDS: Unique awards will be awarded to 5-year age groups in the 5K race. All entered participants are eligible for raffle prizes.

DIRECTIONS: Eudora is located off of Highway 10, 7 miles East of Lawrence and 7 Miles West of DeSoto. The race will be held in downtown Eudora. Exit Highway 10 on 1061, turn North ½ Mile to 10th Street. Turn West (left) 2 blocks to Main Street. Parking is found East of the park in the Eudora Community Center parking lot. Registration will occur in the building by the CPA Park Gazebo.
