The Rural Route 13.1 offers a variety of events that take runners, walkers, and bikers along a scenic tour of rural Jewell County Kansas. Rolling hills challenge participants while providing stunning views of the countryside. Everyone is invited to a fuel up at a spaghetti feed the night before the race as well as enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast after crossing the finish line. All participants will receive a performance material t-shirt, customized race bib, and the opportunity to personalize their own finisher medal - a locally sourced limestone rock.
The Rural Route 13.1 has races for all ages and levels to experience:
Half-Marathon Run/Walk ($45)
10 K Run/Walk ($45)
13.1 Mile Bike Ride ($45)
6.2 Mile Kids' Bike Ride ($20)
If you're seeking a competitive race, we offer cash prizes to top finishers. If a morning of family time and fresh air is more your pace, our event is family friendly. New this year are a 6.2 mile kid's bike ride and family plan pricing. For those members of your household not old enough to participate, jogging strollers and bike trailers are welcome.
The spaghetti feed hosted by the Mankato Eager Beavers 4-H Club will be on Friday night from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Esbon Community Center. Pack pick-up will also be available at that time as well as from 7:00-7:45 AM on race day.
All proceeds will benefit the Zach Kindler Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Esbon Community Alliance.
