8K Fitness Race - The Hammer Run - Individual Age group/open
About This Activity
This is an off road run (fitness race) through the trails around our campus and into Ainger Creek Trails. The course will be challenging due of the terrain, but what will make this race even more challenging is the fitness stations set up along the course route, aimed at getting you tired and fatigued. This will be a race within a race. Multiple fitness challenges throughout this 8K will test your strength, power, agility, as well as your overall fitness. *This race is not an obstacle course race. Ten stations along the course route will be designated as ones needed to complete at a Level 3 for you to be in the running for overall champion. If all 10 are completed at a Level 3, then the order of finish will determine the champion(s).
There will be an overall Male/Female Champion. Prize(S) will be the coveted SLEDGE HAMMER.
Each fitness station will have 3 levels: Level 1 - Average Joe, Level 2 - The Overachiever, and Level 3 - The HAMMER! If (when) you complete a station you will get a stamp on your arm.
To be in the running for the Overall Champion M/F you will need to complete all designated stations at Level 3.
Each Level 3 station completed will earn you a button, 10 in all. Complete all 10, and you will earn THE HAMMER button as well.
Each participant will be given a hat with race logo with their entry fee.
Buttons are to be adorned on your hat to show your achievements!
Not every racer will earn medals when running a race. This race is set up for people to be rewarded for what they earn throughout THE WHOLE RACE! A racer might not win the race, but they may earn 1, 4, or even all 10 buttons for completing something very difficult!
That is the win!!
"In life man is either an anvil or a hammer." Which one are you?
