About This Activity
1. T-shirts can no longer be guarenteed. A few a still available on a first come first served basis based on size.
2. Online registration ends mid-night June 2.
3. Early packet Pickup on June 5 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Feet First Sports store located in the Hickory Ridge Village Center in Columbia.
4. Race day registration begins at 6:45 a.m. All runners must arrive at the Shrine of St. Anthony by 7:45 a.m. The entrance will be closed to incoming traffic at that time.
The Leprechaun Charity Run is an annual fundraising race held on the first Saturday of June. It is hosted by the Tanzanian Children's Orphanage Project (TCP). The event raises money for charities that support orphans and children with various physical and intellectual disabilites.
TCP is a non-profit organization located in Columbia, Maryland whose mission is to raise funds for the development of health and education facilities in Tanzania. Most of the children who will benefit from the proceeds of this race have been orphaned due to loosing one or both parents from HIV/AIDS and tropical diseases such as malaria.
The Malowa Medical Dispensary located in the Rombo District of Tanzania is 100 percent funded by TCP. You can view the dispensary on Google maps. Search on Malowa Medical Dispensary. Visit www.TanzaniaKids.org to learn more about the Tanzanian Children's Orphanage Project.
The Clermont Foundation is the second non-profit to benefit from this race. The foundation supports an orphange in Haiti. It offers free health care and education to approximately 18-20 boys. More information can be found at www.clermontfoundation.org.
