The Family Resource Center is hosting Puppy Love, a 5K fun run/walk on Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at Johnny Appleseed Park in Elko. This unique event allows participants to run or walk with their dogs. In addition to raising funds for FRC programming, it promotes physical exercise and socializing with runners, walkers, and dog lovers in a fun community event--all for a good cause!
The event is open to all participants, with or without a dog. The registration fee is $30 the day of the race or $20 (plus website processing fee) for pre-registration. The first 150 people to register will receive a free WAG bag with an event shirt, items for their dog, one free raffle ticket, and sponsor marketing merchandise. Children under age 16 may run/walk for free with a registered adult; if children under age 16 would like a WAG bag with an event shirt, they must register.
Same day registration begins at 7:00 am on the day of the race. Walkers will start at 7:45 am and runners will begin at 8:00 am. Free recovery fruit/water is available to all race participants and volunteers. Following the 5K, a finish line celebration will take place with awards for dogs such as Best Costume and Friendliest Pup, music, a raffle, food, and beverages.
