About This Activity

Have fun, support local chartiable organizations and win great prizes at the third annual Peoples Bank Oktoberfest 5K Run, 2 Mile Walk and Best-Dressed Dog Contest.

Each registrant will receive a sportpak which will contain a long-sleeve T-shirt (guaranteed for those registered by September 30, 2015), water bottle, a free drink ticket (for those 21 and older) to the Elkhorn Oktoberfest celebration and other great items.

Post-race raffle at the fairgrounds with fabulous prizes.

Adult winners in each age division will receive a commemorative stein.  Winners in each of the children's age division will also receive awards.

Walkers can bring their dog along with them on the walk.  All dogs must be on a leash and in control at all times.  Sorry, no dogs allowed in the 5k run.

New this year, a Best-Dressed Dog Contest.  The contest will be held after the race and all registered participants are eligible to enter their dog in the contest.  Top three winners will receive a prize.

Post-race party at the Elkhorn Oktoberfest Celebration being held in downtown Elkhorn.

Event details and schedule

  • Day of registration accepted in person until 8am at the fairgrounds
  • To be assured a t-shirt, participants must be registered by September 30, 2015.
  • 5K run to start at 9am and 2 mile walk to start shortly thereafter
  • Course to be run on the Walworth County Fairgrounds and the surrounding area
  • Specific course map will be posted to the website once the final route is confirmed
  • Professionally timed 5K
  • Best-Dressed Dog Contest after the race.  All registrant's dogs are eligible to participate.
  • Parking available across from the main gate of the Walworth County Fairgrounds
  • Post-race food and drinks
