About This Activity

Sarah, a sophomore at Elkhart Memorial High School, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer - one of the youngest, at age 15, to be diagnosed with such an advanced form of colon cancer on July 3, 2013.  With multiple hospitals working on a treatment plan she has had numerous surgeries and has started two intensive rounds of three types of chemotherapy since her initial July 3rd surgery.

As a freshman Sarah was involved with the track team where she ran a 5:33 mile in the spring of 2013.  Sarah was a fighter she continued to battle this disease until she passed away on December 7, 2013. We are all encouraged to be #SarahStrong no matter what we face in our daily lives.  The SarahStrongRun is to help raise money for Passionately Purple the Sarah Crane Foundation which assists families whose children are going through treatment.
