Greetings all you wonderful runners and great people! I hope your training is going well in this beautiful Spring weather. As you know, the COVID-19 virus continues to spread and California’s Governor has requested that large groups of people not come together in order to mitigate the impact.
Therefore, we will be changing the date of the 9th Annual Kaiser Permanente Running of the Elk to Sunday, June 21st.
All other details should remain the same. As you know, the Running of the Elk is 100% volunteer driven run and all proceeds go to the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation – providing scholarship for kids to play recreational youth sports. Unfortunately, most of the expenses incurred for our run are prepaid. Therefore, our strong preference is NOT to cancel the run and, instead, reschedule it.
This gives you more time to train and us more time to make the run even more special!
Please mark your calendar for Sunday, June 21st. Same time. Same place.
Thank you for being flexible!
The Running of the Elk is a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids Run that takes place in Elk Grove, CA. The event exists to encourage fitness and a healthy lifestyle while at the same time raising money for the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation youth sports scholarship fund.
Start/Finish location and start times are pending final approval and subject to change.
