About This Activity
Learn how to walk “correctly” for exercise using the WalkAthlete® athletic walking technique. Athletic walking is fun, social and an excellent way to stay fit for all ages and fitness levels! The 6 WalkAthlete® technique skills are combined with specific exercises to improve posture, muscular balance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. Walking speed is not important. You must slow down to learn the technique! This is a fun class. There is no pressure and no competitiveness. You’ll go at your own pace and take breaks when you need to.
Beginner WalkAthletes: New students learning the technique for the first time will practice basic skills at an easy pace. Each skill will be mastered before adding speed.
Intermediate-Advanced WalkAthletes: Returning students will practice the skills at variable speeds including some advanced drills.
Duration: 6 weeks. 1 hour per week. Level: All Fitness Levels WalkAthletes: New & Returning
