Brew run - Individual
About This Activity
Bay Area Brew runs brings together what runners and athletes of all shapes, sizes, ages and levels love: Beer and running!
Join us at 10 AM Saturday March 19th at Crooked Thumb Brewery and enjoy a casual 5k run. The run will start and end at Crooked Thumb and will be clearly marked. All participants receive a craft beer from the brewery and a swag item (TBD). After you cross the finish line we will have our after party and we will play our famous Beer Olympics games! Prizes and "gold medals" for the winners.
Crooked Thumb Brewery owes it’s name to Pinellas County, which has been said to “hang off the west coast of Florida like a crooked thumb.” We decided on the name not only because of it’s reference to the geographic shape of the county but also its more literal reference to a uniquely shaped hand. We make hand crafted ales and we strive to do it in a fresh and unique way. We value alternative thinking and welcome anyone who, like a crooked thumb, sticks out.
Our charity partner is Bright Pink. Bright Pink is the only national non-profit organization focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. Their aim is to reach the 52 million young women in the United States between the ages of 18 and 45 with our innovative, life-saving breast and ovarian health programs, thereby empowering this and future generations of women to live healthier, happier, and longer lives.
**In 2016 we are changing our charity procedure. Instead of selling separate charity entries we will now donate $1 per entry sold to Bright Pink.
Please keep in mind that we are all about having FUN!! We do not chip time or even have a timing clock (but of course feel free to time yourself!) but we do acknowledge our top male and female finishers during our after party. This is an open course so please obey all trafic laws and keep headphones at a low volume. We do our due diligence to set you SAFE courses, but we work with where our breweries are located so there may be street crossings. Please email email@example.com with any questions.
