Dog Days of Summer Cool Down Pool PAWty - over 30 lbs.
About This Activity
DID YOU KNOW? Hundreds of stray dogs roam the streets of Detroit on any given day with about only 23 animal care workers to rescue them. Of those rescued over 90% of dogs will be euthanized if not adopted or placed in a foster care home.
Well NO more, through advocacy for alternatives to euthanasia, proper pet care education, low cost spay and neutering programs, Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR) established the only NO-KILL shelter in Detroit to help the City of Detroit become a NO-Kill city, as well as, providing assistance with pet food and medical resources to low income families.
Detroit Parks & Recreation Department (DPRD) is committed to the health and wellness of our families in the Metropolitan Detroit Area by offering diverse programs and activities for Senior, Teens, Adults and Youth (STAY) and sometimes a Furever Friend, their pet.
The largest and only outdoor pool in the City of Detroit ~ Brennan Pool will close for the season on Labor. But before its drain Detroit Parks & Recreation Department, Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC) and Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR) will join forces for the 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer Cool Down Pool PAWTY on September 9, 2017
Session I: 10 am – 11:30 am under 30 lbs. Session II: Noon – 1:30 pm over 30 lbs. (Doggie Swimwear Pageant 30 minutes after the start of each session)
