About This Activity
Friends with Benefits is a group of individuals on a mission to save the world, one cause at a time.
Last year, Friends with Benefits Concert raised over $4,000 for Habitat for Humanity in Hood County to help with the rebuilding of homes destroyed by the tornado last May. This year, we have decided to help two local organizations that dedicate their time and efforts being the voice for our friends who can’t speak for themselves - animals. In addition to the concert event, we’ve added a 5K race in to the mix. The Denton Humane Society is a private, not-for-profit organization chartered in 1972 for the purpose of assisting animals. In addition, DHS seeks to foster a sense of empathy and compassion among the general population toward the role and place of animals in an enlightened society. Our second charity is Mazie’s Mission, a 501(c)3 non-profit rescuing pets from shelters, hoarders and puppy mills. Mazie’s Mission was formed to bring a self-sustaining, focused approach to animal welfare with the purpose of eliminating unnecessary euthanasia. This will be accomplished by providing professional medical care, expert forensic evidence and adoption assistance to shelters, rescue groups, first responders and other non-profit animal welfare groups. The ultimate goal of Mazie’s Mission is to establish a world class veterinary hospital and rehabilitation left.
We look forward to seeing you there :)
