About This Activity

Now entering its 5th year, the Annual Rev. George Moore Sr., Stroke Awareness Run/Walk was founded in order to increase gemeral awareness of the risk for strokes, and stroke prevention in Metro Atlanta, GA. This year's race will once again start at 8AM on the Candler Road Side of Saint Philip AME Church, and proceed around the beautiful, historic East Lake Golf Course, home of the Annual Tour of Championship Golf Tournament in September of each year. This year's race route will also take us by the campus of the brand new Charles Drew Charter School. Participants who complete the race will each receive a t-shirt upon completion of the race.

Immediately following the conclusion of the race, we invite participants to jalso join us inside the Family Life Center of Saint Philip AME Church where the 10th Annual Wellness Festival will be going on from 8Am-12Noon. This year's event will include the 1st Annual Saint Philip "Chopped" competition, featuring local professional and nonprofessional chefs presenting healthy foods, as well as a total of 55 vendors representing traditional medicine,  nontraditional medicine, living green, and fitness categories. The festival is free for those who attend, and open to the public, and fun for children and adults.
