About This Activity
The Colored Me Healed: Rana's Race for HLH color run is a way for us to raise money for HLH research. Contributions and net proceeds for this year's race will be donated to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Research Foundation to fund research to provide care and innovative treatments for patients.
Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis is a life-threatening condition. It is most often caused by an inherited problem to the immune system. The key to improve outcomes for those diagnosed with this disease is for patients to have a swift diagnosis. More family practitioners, emergency room doctors, and pediatricians need to learn about how HLH presents itself in its early stages. Rana traveled to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for the best treatment possible where doctors and researched are dedicated to bring an end to this disease.
HLH is not a form of cancer, The disease was discovered in 1985 and causes and symptoms are still being discovered every day. The doctors and Cincinnati Children's Hospital treat more cases each year than anywhere else in the United States. Many cases go undiscovered or are discovered too late to benefit the patient.
The research has made great progress but it needs to continue. This is our way of honoring our fellow classmate Rana. We will forever be touched by her strength and resolve to fight this disease.
We hope that you will sign up for Color Me Healed: Rana's Race for HLH to support Cincinnati Children's Hospital Research Foundation.
