About This Activity

The 2014 Run for Human Rights benefits Human Rights Initiative of North Texas (HRI), a Dallas-based non-profit serving immigrant victims of violence through legal and social services.

This 5K Run/Walk, held at Bachman Lake, is family & pet friendly with a comfortable path around the lake and a beautiful pavillion to relax and enjoy music, food, and fun after the race! DOOR PRIZES and FOOD TRUCKS after the race!

Event schedule and times


Race Site and Parking: 

Bachman Lake Pavilion, 3500 Northwest HWY Dallas, TX 75220

Free parking is available in two large parking lots next to the pavilion.  


Race Day Schedule: 

8:30 AM - Registration and Bib-Pick Up Opens

**Coffee served courtesy of Addison Coffee Roasters**

9:30 AM - Kids FunRun 1K begins - Run with your kids before the race starts!

10:00 AM - 5K Run/Walk Begins

11:00 AM - Door prizes and race winners announced! 


Bibs & Timing:

Runners and walkers will be provided with disposable timing chips in their race bib on the day of the race.  This 5K is a USATF sanctioned race.  


Medals and Prizes

Medals will be awarded to best Male and Female Runners in the following age groups: 

15 and under

16 - 24 

25 - 34

35 - 44

45 - 59


Best Male and Female overall winners!

Door prizes will be raffled off after medal winners are announced.


T-shirts and Goody Bags

All pre-registered runners will receive a race t-shirt and goody bag immediately following the race.
