* A family fun event including bunny costumes (optional) and runs through bubbles!!*
This event takes place in the lovely Village of Forest Hills located in Cullowhee across from WCU. The course will follow the Forest Hills loop road of North and South Country Club Drives. There is one major hill to tackle, then the course planes off, and a gradual downhill takes you back to the finish line. Bunny costumes and bunny ears are encouraged!
This is a fundraiser to support the MDCS cross country team and MDCS athletic, music, and theater programs. Mountain Discovery Charter School (MDCS) opened its doors in the fall of 2002. MDCS was founded by a group of parents who sought a learning environment for their children which offered smaller classrooms and more individualized attention, fostered creative and critical thinking skills, and created a closely knit community of teachers, parents and students. We believe that empowering our students empowers our community.
Charter schools receive no public tax dollars for buildings, infrastructure and additional costs incurred by the school’s experiential learning program. Many programs at the school are challenged for funding. Parent-run fundraisers, such as this event, are a large contributor for equipment and materials which the students may not have otherwise.
