Run for the Seals 2014

Event Date

Sat, Oct 4, 2014

Crescent City, CA

About This Activity

The 2nd annual Run for the Seals takes place on a scenic, loop course around the Crescent City Harbor using the California Coastal Trail and city bike paths. It is held during the peak of autumn when crisp, clear weather is the norm.
This year we will offer a 10k and a kids race, the latter is free of charge for kids nine and below!
Both the 5k and 10k start at the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center. The 5k travels via the bike path to Ocean World and then back to the B Street pier to make a full loop. The 10k follows the 5k course, but also extends into the Harbor with a turnaround at Whalers Rock.
The Run for the Seals is a fundraising event for the non-profit Northcoast Marine Mammal Center, an all volunteer organization. All proceeds will go to buying fish, medicine, and paying facility costs to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured seals back into their natural habitat!!
