The Food Run 5k is back! The Coralville Ecumenical Food Pantry is excited to announce that it will be hosting its second ever 5k run/walk on Saturday, November 8. The Food Run 5k is intended to be a fun-filled way for people of all ages and abilities to come together to support the mission of the food pantry.
The route is a scenic one beginning and ending at the food pantry (203 1st Street). Participants will use a mixture of wide sidewalks and the Clear Creek Trail to trek past the Hawkeye Recreation Fields and through the tree-filled Mormon Handcart park. Prizes will be awarded to first place male and female finishers for the following categories: 8 & under; 9-13; 14-21; 21-49, 50+.
Registration costs ($25/person) include an event t-shirt as well as food and drinks after the event. Children age 5 and under participate at no cost. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Coralville Ecumenical Food Pantry. Registration for “The Food Run” is now open. Mail-in forms will become available in mid-August.
