About This Activity
The 10th Anniversary of the annual Kops for Kids & Pacific Service Credit Union Run/Walk & Roll is a family-friendly benefit race for Contra Costa Kops for Kids. Contra Costa Kops For Kids is a not for profit organization of local active and retired peace officers who work in our community to help prevent violence, drug abuse, gangs, and juvenile delinquency in Contra Costa County by reaching out to at-risk youth. All proceeds from the 2016 Run/Walk/Wheelchair Races go to support our programs for at-risk youth.
The Contra Costa Kops For Kids & Pacific Service Credit Union Run/Walk and Roll Races feature a 1 Mile, 5K and 10K race with a wheelchair division within each race distance. Medals are awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male & female winners in each age category in each race and 2 age catagories in the wheelchair division. In addition, trophies & prizes are awarded to the fastest male and female runners in the 5K and 10K races.
You can also sign up to run/walk/roll BOTH the 1 Mile and the 5K or 10K for an extra $5.00 to your entry fee.
(NOTE: if doing both the 1 Mile and the 5K or 10K you will receive a confirmation email for just the 5K or 10K with the 1 Mile race as an additional purchase. We will off-line register you for the 1 Mile to avoid any confusion with Active.com.) You will receive bibs for both races at packet pick-up. You can also add the 1 Mile race for $5.00 more on Race Day.
This is a family-friendly race! All ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. Your entry fee includes a custom designed event T-shirt, goody bag, post-race food & drink donated by Lazy Dog Restaurant & Concord Costco.
Professional chip timing, music & announcing by Brazen Racing.
Meet our special guest, Eddie Hart, Gold medal Olympic runner who will start off the races for us! Free inflatable Olympic torches for all youth participants under 18 to run & walk with on the course! Adult participants can get one too for a minimum donation of $2.00 to Kops for Kids; while supplies last on race day!
For our participants that are active/retired law enforcement or military, we also have a perpetual trophy that will be awarded to the law enforcement group or military unit with the most participants. Register your LE group or unit today!
