About This Activity

The World Race for Hope 5k charity run/walk is organized by Free To Run Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity that was formed in 2012. This is the 5th annual race in Columbus, and our 3rd at Scioto Audubon. Other races take place in Troy, Ohio and New York City, with future events being organized in other cities. Proceeds from registrations and donations will support anti-trafficking activities in the Columbus and Central Ohio area through our charity partners UNCHAINED, Freedom a la Cart, OneVOICE4freedom, Out of Darkness Columbus, and We Are Cherished Ohio, as well as international initiatives through our partners in Cambodia, Thailand and Costa Rica.

This year, we are challenging our supporters and participants to "go the extra mile" to fight trafficking and injustice.

Optional Fundraising

New this year, you have the option to create a fundraising page during registration, and you can choose to have your registration fee waived if you commit to raising $100 by race day. There will be other fundraising prizes at higher amounts.

One Mile Fun Walk

If 4.1 miles is too daunting of a task, you can choose the 1 mile fun walk. The walk is free, with an option to purchase a shirt for $15. You can also set up a fundraising page with this event.

Virtual Race Option

If you are located outside of the Central Ohio, or you aren't available to participate on April 9, you can still sign up as a Virtual Race participant. You can run or walk the 5k+ anywhere or anytime, on April 9, or whatever date is convenient to you. To support the fight against trafficking in Central Ohio, you can participate for $10, or if you would like a shirt mailed to you after the race, the cost is $25 to participate.
