About This Activity

Celebrate Halloween like never before as you run for your life at the Second Annual Zombie V. Survivors 5K Run brought to you by the Ledger-Enquirer, Uptown Columbus and Big Dog Running! The Zombie Run is an interactive fun run stretching from Woodruff Park, taking you along the River Walk, through Uptown Columbus, passing TSYS and back through Uptown towards the finish. During your run you will encounter Zombies roaming the streets of Uptown, hanging out under bridges and lurking in abandoned areas along the route! Keep your eyes open - Zombies don’t like fast food so be ready to run! You may stumble across a few obstacles and run through some haunted graveyards... All in a day’s work surviving the zombie apocalypse.

Event starts at 6 PM with a tot trot for mini zombies 5 and under. 5K run takes off at 6:30 PM.

This is a great event for families and friends to come out for some seasonal Zombie fun while interacting with your community!

  • You must never make contact with the Zombies in attempt to push them out of the way or even knocking their arms out of the way.  If they get close enough to grab your flag, it's your fault for being too slow. Speed up.
  • Do not flag guard.
  • You must be 14 years old or older to race course without a parent or legal guardian.
  • No Pets allowed.
  • No weapons of any kind allowed (toys or real).  If found, you will be asked to leave immediately. If real, the police will be called. If pretend, we will call rent-a-cops.
  • Run fast, Zombies hate fast food.
  • You will have 3 flags, when (if) your 3rd flag gets taken, you become Zombified. Stop for a second. Cry. Stamp your feet. Then get over it. Get to the finish line and celebrate all the fun.  We have the antidote and you will live, we promise! Then come back next year to redeem yourself.
  • No picking up flags that may be on the ground… that is cheating and no one likes a cheater
  • Screaming is allowed, but only for wimps.
  • Obey course officials at all times. If you violate a rule, you will be removed from the event immediately without refund.

  • You must never make contact with the living in attempt to stall them or capture their flags. Doing so will result in removal from course and all zombie activity.

  • No pets allowed
  • No weapons of any kind allowed (toys or real).  If found, you will be asked to leave immediately.

  • Only take 1 flag per runner (i.e. do NOT take 2 or 3 flags from an oncoming runner)
  • Moaning, screaming, and growling are encouraged.
  • Talking to other zombies is not permitted because zombies do not talk!
  • Obey course officials at all times. If you violate a rule, you will be removed from the event immediately without refund.
