FEDS Brevard Buddy Walk 2014
Sat, Oct 25, 2014
About This Activity
The event is held at beautiful Riverfront Park where we'll take a one-mile walk with our buddies (kids/adults with Down Syndrome) down Riverside Drive along the Indian River. Back at the park we'll be providing music, food, crafts, and activities like pony rides and a petting zoo to help create a fun party atmosphere that encourages fulfilling interaction with our buddies.
The most important thing we do is support our community. Through the brillant assistance of our sponsors, volunteers and endorsers, last year we raised enough money to: Supply all Brevard County hospitals with new parent packets- collections of information about Down Syndrome and resources for parents with questions. Help fund camp experiences for kids with Down Syndrome of all ages. Support the Special Olympics in Brevard. Provide financial assistance for medical and dental expenses not covered by insurance or exisiting community resources. Assist with fees for activities like gymnastics, dance, horse-back riding and swimming lessons that invlove people with Down Syndrome in the community.
