About This Activity

Lake Louisa State Park, famous for its six beautiful lakes, rolling hills and scenic landscapes is the setting for The Florida Run. Known as one of Central Florida's more challenging races the course will take runners on paved surfaces, dirt trails, grass trails and some sand. You will run through orange groves, pine trees, by creeks and around lakes. You may even have the opportunity to see equestrian riders, wild turkeys, deer and other wild life. The beauty and challenge of this race is what keeps people coming back as we entertain kids, walkers and competitive runners.

Course Description:

All three races will start and end at the parking lot near the water front beach of Lake Louisa.

Our 1 Mile Kids Run is a flat out and back with 30% road and 70% trail.

Our 5K is 40% road 60% trail and flat.

Our 10K course has a total ascent of 205.48 ft and has a maximum elevation of 186.84 ft.. So you are going to get a good climb on our trail portion. Well worth the climb as when you get to the top you will get to enjoy the view of the park and surrounding lakes. This course is 70% trail 30% road.

Our Half Marathon Course has a total ascent of 367.7 ft and has a maximum elevation of 186.94 ft.. This too you will have one good climb. This course is about 50% trail and 50% road.

At mile 2.5 for the 10K and mile 3 for the Half you will drop down to 104 ft and then start a climb up to 186 ft. for .75 miles. This is the most challenging part of both the 10K and Half Marathon, but don’t let that scare you! We have an aid station and a beautiful view of the park when you get to the top.
