Summer Death March 2014
Sat, Jun 21, 2014
About This Activity
"Fortitude" is defined as the strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or bear pain or adversity with courage.
You are about to embark on the 2nd Annual Summer Death March. Please be in great shape both mentally and physically. IT IS NOT EASY, nor designed to be that way. We are looking for just a few nut jobs that think they can pull this off.
It is on the Saturday nearest the summer solstice. The day will be one of the longest days of the year, therefore be one of the longest, toughest runs of the year. This is at the heat of the day on the hottest day of the year. It is designed to be tough, IT IS NOT EASY. The Clay Road of Clermont will make your day even hotter. The run starts at 1:30 pm. You will not see your shadow, as the sun is directly over your head. Last year the temperature was a humid 95 degrees at the start of the run/walk/death march.
Every finisher will get a "cool" long sleeve tech shirt. You bring a hat, sun glasses, wet towel, and plenty of water. We will have roving support throughout the event and supply frozen bottles of water, iced towels, and plenty of ice water for cooling stations.
Post race festivities, if not in the emergency room, will be at the TIKI Bar in Minneola on Lake Minneola.
Best of luck, tell a friend, and we will see you on the roads.
