About This Activity

Austin Peay State University’s Scholarship 5K Run will be hosted on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 9 a.m. at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill. 

Because of your support for the APSU Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run, you are providing possibilities for our students. Proceeds from the 5K Run benefit APSU students. Thank you!

Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill

High on a windy hill, overlooking the confluence of the Red and Cumberland rivers, stands Emerald Hill, home of Austin Peay State University’s National Alumni Association and this year’s start and finish for the Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run. Listed in the National Register of Historic Sites, the history of this antebellum mansion is as rich as the traditions of the University. As runners come to conquer Emerald Hill they will embark on a journey of accomplishment as they endure the winding course to the top. Truly, the name given by Gustavus A. Henry was appropriate. It was and still is an Emerald Hill. Let the race begin...

5K Run Fees


  • $30 Preregistration* (must receive by Oct. 29)
  • $35 Race Day

APSU Student (With valid APSU I.D.)

  • $15 Preregistration* (must receive by Oct. 29)
  • $20 Race Day


Military (With valid I.D.)

  • $25 Preregistration* (must receive by Oct. 29)
  • $30 Race Day

NOTE: APSU Student and Military ID’s will be checked when participants pick up their race packet.

5K Course (Certified USATF No. TN12036MS)

Start and finish at Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill. Course
runs through APSU campus. Click here for course map.


Limited parking is available behind the Pace Alumni Center. Additional parking can be located at Pettus Park. A shuttle will provide transportation to and from Pace Alumni Center from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.


Cash rewards to overall first-, second- and third-place male
and female winners ($100, $75, $50) and to masters (40 &
over) male and female winners ($50).

Medals awarded to first-, second- and third-place male and
female age group winners.

Additional prizes will be awarded to the first-place male and
female winners in these categories: APSU alumnus/a, APSU
faculty/staff, APSU student (must indicate on entry form to
be eligible).

NOTE: Participants may only qualify for one cash award.

Drawing for door prizes will be held following the race.


13 & younger, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & older.
