About This Activity
The annual Trunk or Treat Trot is a memorial race to celebrate the life of Emily Schmidt, a young girl at Clarkston United Methodist Church who bravely fought cancer until her last day. All proceeds from this race are used to help fund CUMC's middle and high school mission trips, where youth will be transformed as they serve others and truly make a difference in our world. The 5K race route runs through the neighborhood streets of Clarkston, and also includes a trail. Often participants dress up in their favorite halloween costumes too. The event ends with an array of muffins, cookies, bagels, fruit, and drinks, along with a medal ceremony and free raffle with wonderful prizes.
Event details and schedule
The 5k race begins promptly at 9:00am, followed by the 1 Mile at 9:02am. The event is family friendly and participants are encouraged to wear halloween costumes. Participants may pick up race packets (with bib and race chips) and t-shirts the night before the race from 5-8pm at Clarkston United Methodist Church. Parking is available at the church. Arrive early on race day, especially if you need to pick up your race packet, bib and chip that morning.
