About This Activity
St. Monica's 5K Run / Walk is a fundraiser created to raise awareness and funding for the benefit of our parish and school. The goals of our event are to have fun, promote good health, a sense of community and raise money for St. Monica.
Our event kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on June 14, 2014 at the corner of Nottingham and Carmen. We will wind 3.1 miles through the Big Oaks neighborhood and begin with prayer from our Pastor, playing of the National Anthem and reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Music provided by our own Parishioner, Rich Urbinati, Dynamite DJ Productions, prizes, raffles and lots of fun.
Thank you to 41st Ward office, the 16th District Police Commander and the Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce.
This is an untimed event - Mile markers will be posted.
Runners will start the 5K ahead of walkers.
Strollers and baby joggers are welcome - For safety reasons bikes, skate boards, roller skates/blades or pets are NOT permitted.
As a Green Initiative we encourage local participants to walk to the 5K Run / Walk. Event day parking will be extremely limited.
Gear check: There is no Gear check for this event and we will not be responsible for loss of or damage to personal property. Please leave valuables with spectators or at home.
Raffles: All registered participants will get a numbered bib with a raffle tear off, raffles will take place at 10:15. Winners need to be present.
The St. Monica Academy 5K will take place rain or shine. If cancellation of the event is warranted due to dangerous weather conditions, announcements will be made race day at the race site. The event will not be canceled in advance. All decisions regarding cancellation will be made on site, race day. No refunds will be made in the event of cancellation.

Packet Pick Up (T-Shirt / Bib Packet) will be held in Beyenka Hall - 5115 N. Mont Clare St. June 11th & 12th 2:30-6:30 pm and June 14th, from 8-8:30 am. Packets may be picked up by a friend with signature.
Awards: There will be nine awards, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place awards for men, women & St. Monica's students. Awards will take place at 10:00 am.
Late registration will be accepted from May 24, 2014 - June 14, 2014. However, t-shirt is subject to availability.
Absolutely no refunds of any kind - This is a fundraising event!
