2020 we are offering a redesigned course! The original course was mostly fire roads throughout the park. Although beautiful, we always intended more of a trail event. With the building of some new hiking trails and a redesign of the course we feel we have a great course waiting for you. We have removed about 80% of the true fire roads. To improve on racer experience we have removed a ton of the marathon loop fire roads (a long out and back section) that the 1/2 marathon never ran. Instead, we have created a 2 loop course adding more trail miles. This will give you more picturesque views and a better trail race experience! These new trails are very runnable with good footing most of the way.
Aid stations will be placed about every 3.5 miles. These stations will have water, fruit, candy, chocolate and pretzels. For those running longer or those who feel they will want some sort of gel/chew, we suggest you bring what you have trained with for the event.
Relays will run loops approximately 6.5 miles each. This year all relay legs will begin and end at the Start/Finish area and race with the solo marathoners. Runner 1 and 3 will run loop A (Beaver Lake Loop) and runner 2 and 4 will run loop B (Findley Station, Coop and Trooper Loop)
