About This Activity
P.I.G. stands for P erseverance, I ntensity and G rit. The P.I.G. Race is Family Friendly Farm Festival Fun with 3+ events to choose from.
Each running event is in the manner of a European Style Cross Country Race and is NOT a mud run.
The Piglet 5k is 3.1 miles long and has at least 10 Challenges, Barriers and Obstacles. Challenges are things you run through or around. Barriers are things that you jump over. And Obstacles are things you climb. This event is great for kids and family.
The Porker 8k is almost 5 miles long and has more than a dozen Challenges, Barriers and Obstacles. Challenges are things you run through or around and Barriers are things that you jump over. The Porker 8k is a European Style Cross Country Race with a Pigs Tail Twist and is for the 5k runner who is looking to step up to another level in intensity.
The Wild Boar 12k is 7.4 miles long and has Challenges, Barriers and Obstacles. Challenges are things you run through or around, Barriers are things that you jump over and Obstacles are things that you climb. This event is for the seasoned runner who is looking for that something extra or a great tune up for more arduous events.
Other events happening as part of the Family Farm Fest are:
The Bacon Bits is a short version of The Piglet 5k and is designed for children 6-10 yrs. Each course is less than 1/2 mile long and has a few Challenges.
The Piglet 5K-9 is an opportunity for dog owners to run with their dog. None of these events are timed so don't worry if you get side tracked along the route by your dog's interest in the outdoors. All of the objectives are "dog friendly" and will be an event you look forward to every year.
The Tinted Pig 5k is the same 5k course, but this event has some color thrown in!
So be a Piglet or a Porker. Put on your pig snout. Put your hair in pigtails. Dress like a pig. Who cares? Show people that running puts you in hog heaven!
