About This Activity
The 1st annual Chatham Club Fit-to-Food 5K run to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey takes place in early autumn. The run begins and ends at The Chatham Club. Runners will turn right out of the Club, head to and then up Shunpike Avenue. A right turn takes them onto Noe Avenue followed by another right hand turn into a quiet residential area. Participants will eventually turn back onto Noe Avenue continuing downhill to turn right onto Southern Boulevard.
The route follows Southern Boulevard to the last right hand turn back into the parking lot of The Chatham Club where cheering friends and family, along with food, music, and a variety of vendor booths will be waiting for you. And, for those of you who are competitive, the run is USATF NJ Grand Prix certified.
This fun event, the 1st of many Fit-to-Food 5K runs, will raise much needed funds for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey while promoting fitness among the local residents. Participation is limited, so register early to ensure a spot. Come join us!
Event details and schedule
Date – Sunday, September 28, 2014 (rain or shine)
Time – race begins at 10:00am
Distance – 5K (3.1miles)
Route – begins and ends in The Chatham Club parking lot, turns right out of the lot towards Shunpike Rd., turns right onto Shunpike Rd., continues up Shunpike Rd., turns right onto Noe Ave., right onto Oak Hill Rd., left onto Warrick Rd., left onto Sandy Hill Rd., right back onto Noe Ave., right onto Southern Blvd., then a final right in to The Chatham Club parking lot to finish.
Parking – Participants and their families may park at the following locations: The Fairmount Commons - 466 Southern Blvd.; Nash Field - 405 Southern Blvd.; Oak Knoll Field - 300 Green Village Rd.; and on Hickory Place Road. (The Chatham Club parking lot will be closed.)
After Race Events – The runners and their families will enjoy food, music, and a variety of vendor booths. The awards/thank you ceremony will be conducted in The Chatham Club parking lot as well.
What to bring - ID, weather appropriate attire, non-perishable food donation, and enthusiasm!
Due to road restrictions NO strollers will be permitted in the run.
8:00am – Packet Pick-up (packets may be picked-up at The Chatham Club front desk Friday, Sept 26th and Saturday September 27th between the hours of 9am and 5pm)
