About This Activity
The Good Ride is an inaugural charity bike event for the entire family taking place on May 10, 2014 in Charlotte, NC. Proceeds from The Good Ride proudly benefit 24 Hours of Booty - a 501c3 that brings together cyclists of all abilities who are passionate about fighting cancer.
The Good Ride offers a 22 mile, 34 mile and 65 mile ride through some of North and South Carolina's most scenic and well-known communities beginning and ending Blakeney. Registration cost is $35 per rider. $45 on the day of the event.
A Family Fun Ride will also be offered for all ages! Registration cost for the Family Ride is $10 per rider. Registration for this ride will also take place the morning of the event from 7:00 am to 8:00 am at Blakeney. Youth under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
The Good Ride is a fully supported ride with hydration stations, rest stops, route markings, SAG, and mechanical support.
Online registration is now open. Event t-shirts will be offered to people that register before April 30th so you are encouraged to register early.
The 22, 34 and 65 mile rides start at 8:00 am and the Family ride ride starts at 8:30 am. All rides start and end Blakeney, on May 10, 2014.
Each rider must present a photo ID in order to pick up his/her own packet.
Packet pickup the morning of the event will be held from 7:00 am to 7:45 am at the venue.
The riders who register before April 30th will receive an event t-shirt, and all riders will receive some great stuff (yes, that you'd actually use!) from our loyal sponsors as part of your registration packet.
After the Ride
At the finish, enjoy food, beer, and more from local vendors as well as prizes and fun awards.
Later that evening, an after-party with food and live music be held at Triple C Brewing Co. starting at 6pm. The event is free for every registered rider. Want to bring a friend or your spouse? No worries.

22, 34 & 65 Mile Rides will start at 8:00am.
Family Ride will start at 8:30am
PARKING: Located at the venue in the Blakeney Professional Center Business Park, please follow volunteer direction upon arrival.
PACKET PICK UP: You will be required to sign the USA Cycling Release Form to participate in this event, Packet pick up opens at 7am in the Expo area. Id Required.
POST RIDE: Bring your favorite chair and hang out and cheer your follow riders through the finish line while enjoying a free beer from Triple C Brewing Company, Hot dogs form JJ Red Hot’s and Pizza from Hawthorne's Pizza. For those under the age or tea totalers we will have non alcoholic beverages as well.
THE AFTER PARTY: 5:30PM - 9:00PM

BIB NUMBERS: Each rider will be assigned a bib number that must be worn at all times and visible by staff, please take a moment and complete your medical information on the back of your bib.
HELMETS: Must be worn at all times!
SAG (SUPPORT): Sag vehicles will be located on the course should any rider need support, if a riders bike is broken down and cannot be ridden, the rider and their bike will be transported to the nearest rest stop where they will coordinate a ride back to the Start/Finish as soon as possible. SAG Vehicles will have spare tubes and floor pumps. For Sag support Call: 704-301-5932
REST STOPS: Rest Stops along the course provide, hydration, snacks, a first aid box and a restroom, if you have special dietary needs or enjoy a special something on your ride please carry those with you.
22 mile ride - 1 rest stop at mile 11 at Bike Depot in Waxhaw
34 mile ride - 1 rest stop at mile 16
65 mile ride - 3 rest stops at mile 16, 30 & 52
COLOR CODES: Each ride is designated with a unique color. Each color corresponds to the the route arrows each ride follows.
22 Mile Ride: Follow Orange Arrows
34 Mile Ride: Follow Lime Green Arrows
65 Mile Ride: Follow Blue Arrows
ROUTE ARROWS: Each ride is designated to follow their corresponding colored arrow which riders need to be on the look out for. Along with the Turn by Turn sheet you are provided, each turn will be marked with brightly colored arrows placed approx. 100 ft before a turn, at the turn, and a confirmation arrow approx. 50 ft. after the turn. Additionally, on stretches of road with intersecting roads or just long stretches, there will be arrows to confirm riders are on the right route.
It is important that riders study the route before departing to get a general sense of where they will be riding. Cue Sheets will be provided at Packet Pick Up with turn by turn guidance.
Please remember This is a rules of the road event and the roads are open to traffic.
The Good Ride is NOT A TIMED RACE but merely a chance for everyone to challenge themselves in a fun and supported environment, enjoy!
