About This Activity
The Final - 4 Miler presented by SPORTPORT and benefiting RunningWorks, is a basketball themed running event where you can celebrate YOUR favorite college basketball team and will take place on the same weekend that only 4 teams are left in the basketball tournament…April 6th, 2019. The event will feature a 4 mile run and the course will start and finish outside the Hornets Stadium in Charlotte, NC.
North Carolina produces some of the most college basketball athletes and has one of the largest college basketball fan bases in the country. Participants will be encouraged to dress up and support their favorite basketball team and there will also be a costume contest.
The entire event will be basketball themed. There are 4 teams left at the end of the tournament in March and 4 miles on the course.

Registration Deadlines: Online registration officially opens the first day of the college basketball season. The first price increase is in February and the final price increase is during The Madness. Online registration will close at midnight on April 3rd. You can still register at packet pick up on Friday and Saturday. Registration will open at 8:00 am and close at 8:45 am on race day.
You can run with a stroller or a dog. We just ask that you please just start in the back to avoid any mishaps.
Race Start Times: The official start area is on N. Brevard and East 6th Street. Saturday, April 6, 2019 9:00 AM – 4 mile START 10:15 AM – Kid’s dash (kids do not have to register) 10:30 AM – Awards Ceremony
What do I get for participating? 1. All 4 miler participants will receive a shirt. We will have mens and women’s cut shirts so please size yourself with that in mind. You must register before March 15th to be guaranteed a t-shirt. 2. Mini-basketballs for the 100 yard Kids’ dash 3. Finisher Medals for the 4 mile participants 4. Costume Contest 5. Great giveaways from our sponsors 6. Great fun!
Packet Pick Up You can pick up packets for friends and family. We HIGHLY SUGGEST picking up your packet on Friday. There will be a lot of people running the race and we want to make sure you get your things before the gun goes off.

T-Shirts Every participant will receive a soft-style performance shirt that signed up before March 20th. Shirts are ordered based on the sizes indicated during online registration. NO SWITCHING SIZES – NO EXCEPTIONS! You may switch sizes AFTER the race at the registration tent if we have leftover shirts.
This is our favorite event! The kid’s dash is very informal so they do not need to register but it gives the kiddos an opportunity to run through the finish line like Mom and Dad. Depending on the numbers, we may have to break it down in to age groups for safety reasons.
Timing We have partnered with Event Marketing Services to time this years event.
Awards 4 Miler ONLY: Top 3 Males and Females in all divisions will receive awards.
Claiming Awards As results become available, runners will be able to claim their awards at the awards ceremony prior to the last participant finishing. We do NOT ship unclaimed awards.
NOTE: Sisu Events reserves the right to add/delete categories and awards prior to race based on participation.
Refunds and Transfers Registration fees are non-refundable. Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years.
Time Limit Walkers are welcome but there is a 1 hour 15 minute time limit to cover the 4 mile course.
Medical There will be a medical tent located at the finish line in case of emergency or any minor medical needs. Announcements can always be made at the DJ booth as well. Any life threatening problems should call 911.
Weather Policy Races are held, rain or shine, unless Sisu Events determines that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend or race day by Sisu Events and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. This position is consistent with USA Track & Field recommendations and with the protocol of sharing the risks associated with the sport of running. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, Sisu Events reserves the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race.
Parking You may park wherever you can find a spot but remember we are starting on the NorthEast side of the stadium.
Parking at Seventh Street Station Located across the Lynx light rail line from ImaginOn, this deck has entrances on 6th and 7th Streets. Additional rates may apply when there are Arena/Uptown events. Make sure you identify yourself as an ImaginOn guest when entering the parking deck if Arena/Uptown event rates are in effect. Surface Parking Lots Several ground level parking lots surround ImaginOn. Fees range from $8.00-$12.00 and must be pre-paid using exact change or by using a phone app. Phone app information can be found at each of the ground level lots. Rates may increase when there are Arena/Uptown events.
