About This Activity

Kevin Peck attended Northwest High School and was an accomplished Cross Country runner.  His untimely death is a tragedy to all that knew him.  In his memory, the Runners Club was asked to help create a scholarship fund in Kevin's name.  The Kevin Peck Perseverance Scholarship Award.
Kevin often lamented that the hardest step of running was the first.  He held the belief that hard work would pay off, and once he got going, eventually he would reach his goal if he kept at it.  It is with this in mind that this award is presented, to serve as a first step.
On behalf of the friends and family of Kevin Peck, the Runners Club has the honor of presenting this award to the senior athlete whose performance dramatically improved from their first season running through their last.  This does not necessarily mean the fastest runner or MVP.  It is the athlete who reflects the determination, focus and drive that Kevin had to persevere, and become the outstanding runner that he was.
Please take the "First Step" and join the run.
All proceeds benefit the Kevin Peck Perseverance Scholarship Fund and the Northwest Runners Club. Race begins at the intersection of Cherry and Canal Street (Erie) and ends in St.Helena Heritage Park. To learn more about the Northwest Runners Club please visit
