The best half marathon and fun 5K on the Eastern Shore!
The Crab Run Half Marathon duplicates the run course of the popular Eagleman triathlon race held each year in Cambridge. Many Eagleman participants run the Crab Run in preparation for the June triathlon. Runners of all abilities enjoy the fast, flat, fun and beautiful course.
The 5K course takes runners and walkers along the banks of the Choptank River and around the historic town of Cambridge.
To encourage HEALTHY LIVING families are encourage to participate and children 12 and under receive a discounted registration fee!
Both distances begin and end at the Dorchester County Family YMCA. Aid stations are provided for both events and a selection of healthy treats await finishers.
"KING CRAB" Runner
For those of you up for a challenge - register for the "King Crab" to complete both the Half Marathon and 5K!
You will begin the Half Marathon at 7:30 and will have two hours to complete before the start of the 5K. Each event will be time and you will receive a "combined" time of the two events.
"King Crab" Participants will enjoy bragging rights as well as a special long sleeve tech t-shirt for the event (this will be a unique t-shirt for only those participating in this category).
2016 marks the 7th Crab Run, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Dorchester Family Y. The Dorchester County Family YMCA is one of the area’s leading charitable 501(c)3 organizations.
The Y’s programs and services are open to all through their financial assistance programs made possible through the generosity of their members, donors and partners. The Crab Run is one of several special events that help the Y help others.
Join us this year for the return of this popular run and enjoy friendly people and amazing scenery in a quaint town on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay.

Check-in at the Dorchester Family YMCA 201 Talbot Ave Cambridge, MD
Friday, April 1 5pm to 8pm
Saturday, April 2 6am until 15 minutes prior to the race
- Half Marathon - 7:30am
- Relay Teams - 7:30am, relay teams must check-in no later than 7:00am for important
- 5K (Adult & Youth) - 9:30am
King Crab Event (participation in Half Marathon and the 5K)
- For those registered for the "king crab" event you will have two hours to complete the half marathon before the start of the 5K
