About This Activity

The Unity Run is a community event.  Paticipants enjoy running through neighborhoods with residents cheering them on to finish while high school bands, cheeereaders, community agencies, and hundreds of volunteers greet each runner in Downtown Calhoun.  The support from the community makes the Unity Run a special event that has endured for 21 years.  THe proceeds from this event go to support 18 United Way agencies and the event serves as the Kick-off for the 2015 United Way Fund Raising Campaign.  First, second and third place awards are presented to age groups as well as Overall Male and Female, Overall Gordon County Male and Female, Master and Grand Master winners.  The Unity Run is part of the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix series.

Event details and schedule

THe 1-K Kids' Run is for children who are starting Pre-K through the 5th grade.  Children wanting to run in both the 1-K and 5-K will pay $25.00 total for both races if the child wants to be timed in the 5-K.  If a 1-K runners does not want to be timed in the 5-K, the fee will remain $15.00.  The additional fee is for chip timing.  First, second, and third place awards will be presented to boys and girls in each age division 4-12.  The I-K Kids' Run is sponsored by All God's Children Pediatrics.

Chip timing for the 5-K will be attached to the run bibs.

Runners will recieve their shirts at the end of the race.  Other gifts including a coupon for a Waffle from the Calhoun Waffle House will be included.  Lots of fruit, gatorade, water, rice kirspie treats, powerbars, and more await the runners when the finish.
