About This Activity

Our 3rd annual 5K event is planned for May 7, 2016. All of the fun from last year, plus more! Planned for the same location, the MacIntosh Community and starting/ending at the Cox Toyota-Scion field. Our course is unique with its challenging portions, off-road portions, and portions perfect for the beginner! This race is timed and the course is a certified 5K distance. There will be activities for the whole family! A kids zone including bouncy house and balloons. You can let the little ones join in on the fun of running with our short kid's run to be held directly after main run. There will be fresh coffee, Chick-fil-a, and Kona Ice snow cones before and after the run along with many other great local venders.

The 3rd Annual Go The Distance 5K Race has been planned to benefit Cameron Horner Ministries.  Four years ago at 18 years of age, Cameron had a diving accident that left him paralyzed from chest down.  Cameron began this ministry to help others by sharing his Story of Faith and The Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world by public speaking, radio ministry, and other forms of community outreach.

One of Cameron's goals is to use this ministry to reach out to others with disabilities. Cameron brings awareness about disabilities to the community and teaches ways that others can reach out as well.

This ministry has also been serving the community by feeding the hungry and offering help and hope to the hurting. We are asking that participants bring non-perishable food items to help stock local food pantries.  CHM has been involved with a local ministry to help feed the homeless and would like for this event to serve our community and help hungry people. Check out our Ministry page at: http://www. cameronhornerministries.org

Registration includes an event T-shirt for those who register by April 18th.  Shirts for those who register after April 18th are not guaranteed, so be sure you register in time to get yours!
