The Road 2 Recovery Superhero 5k Race and Wellness Walk is a fundraising event designed for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. We celebrate a sense of community and encourage groups to come together as teams for friendly competition. Members of the mental health community, family members, friends, professionals, and members of the general community are strongly encouraged to participate in this experience. This event welcomes everyone!
Event Day Description
Road 2 Recovery Superhero 5k Race & Wellness Walk is an annual event that highlights the strength and diversity of the mental health community of Western New York, in addition to offering a premier racing venue for the larger community. In its 27th year, this event is sure to be the biggest, and most fun its ever been.
Unleash your own inner superhero at the event, come dressed as your best super hero, whether it's a popular character, or one you create on your own. We encourage participants to register as either individuals or with teams, and prizes are to be awarded for best times in the race, and best costumes.
After the race, the party begins, with the band Flipside, food, beverages, and fun. New this year, we will have a dunk tank for special villians to take turns in. There will be a children's activities area, and more surprises.
General Information
For nearly 30 years, Road 2 Recovery has been the only race in WNY dedicated to mental health awareness. During that time, mental health practitioners, administrators, county government, community supporters, mental health recipients and volunteers from every service component in the mental health field have participated in this event.
Compeer of Greater Buffalo is teaming up with the Mental Health Association of Erie County to bring you this event. All proceeds raised from the event will support important mentoring and advocacy programs for both agencies. We are teaming up to bring you the best, so come out in your best super hero costume(s) and let's champion our mental and physical wellness together.
