ABOUT THE ROBINSON PRESERVE
The 637 acre preserve contains 6 miles of kayak and canoeing trails, 12 acres of open water, 56 acres of marshland, 20 acres of uplands, 2 docks, a 500' boardwalk on the course, 6 flat bridges, 10 miles of coastal, 7 miles of shell jogging trails, 2 miles of paved tails, fishing piers, observation tower, bird observation loactions! The Robinson Preserve 5K & 10K offers an authentic coastal Florida experince through a remarkable restoration and conservation property. If you are looking for a challenging and eye opening event this is it.
ABOUT EVENT BENEFICIARY- MEALS ON WHEELS PLUS OF MANATEE
Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee offers so much more than home-delivered meals. Since 1972, the organization has been assisting individuals to live independently by providing nutrition and caring, supportive services throughout Manatee County. Current programs include: Daybreak Adult Day Center, Friendship Dining, Senior Lunch Club, Home-Delivered Meals, Senior Enrichment Center, Senior Wheels, and The Food Bank of Manatee.
This past year alone, Meals on Wheels Plus produced 206,120 meals and served 1,983 senior citizens or disabled individuals. The Food Bank of manatee distributed 4.5 million pounds of food to agencies helping children and families in need. Meals on Wheels Plus is committed to being good stewards of donated dollars, with 95 cents of each dollar donated going right back into our programs. Event details and schedule
Free parking is available before the Palma Sola property on 99th Street and in sub divisions on 99th. Shuttle buses are running continueous. There will be a parcel drop at the Cortez Foot and Ankle tent in the sponsor area.
