About This Activity
The 6th Annual Footin’ For Animals 5K & 10K Run/Walk to benefit the Briggs Animal Adoption Center will be held on November 1st at the beautiful State Arboretum of Virginia located at Blandy Farm in Boyce, VA.
Run or walk by yourself or bring along your dog. Don't have a dog to run with? You can see adorable dogs that are available for adoption at the start line and on the race course. Each participant will receive an event t-shirt and prizes will be awarded to top finishers. Proceeds benefit the Briggs Animal Adoption Center and its animal rescue and adoption services.
The Briggs Animal Adoption Center (BAAC) is a program of The National Humane Education Society (NHES) located near Charles Town, WV. This facility is home to approximately 80 dogs and 125 cats and kittens at any given time. BAAC is a no-kill facility and a state of the art adoption shelter that has found loving homes for thousands of its residents.
The primary mission of the BAAC is to place cats and dogs in loving homes with compassionate people who will fulfill lifelong commitments to them by accepting them as members of their families. The BAAC relies solely on charitable contributions to achieve its mission and carry out its services on behalf of cats and dogs.

Schedule & Location
The race begins at 11:00am at Blandy Experimental Farm located at 400 Blandy Farm Ln in Boyce VA. Check in and packet pick up will begin at 9:30am.
Course Information & Parking
The USATF Certified 5K Course is mostly trail and runs through the beautiful State Arboretum of Virginia. Plenty of parking is available.
Packet Pick Up
Race bibs will be available on race day from 9:30-10:45. No advance pick up is available. All participants will receive a race t-shirt. Sizes can not be guaranteed after October 25.
This event will be hand-timed. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers.
All dogs must be kept on leash and under direct supervision of an adult All dogs must be picked up after (bags will be made available) All dogs brought to the event must be current on vaccinations (including Rabies) All dogs brought must have current identification tags
No bikes, strollers, or headphones will be permitted on the course.
