Running - 5K - Bourbonnais
About This Activity
The March of Dimes Mission:
To improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. We fund research to understand problems & discover answers leading to prevention & treatment of premature children, birth defects and infant mortality.
Run for Babies gives hope to nearly half a million babies born too soon each year, by bringing people and communities together to support programs designed to help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It funds important research seeking solutions to problems and complications that threaten our babies.
This year's 5K Run is just one way you can support our important mission and help save babies! You will be running though Perry Farm Park's widely paved beautiful pathways with families, volunteers and supporters cheering you on. As you return, you will be greeted by local radio celebrity Bill Yohnka, of WKAN Radio, announcing your name, information and run time. The day's event will end with fun for adults and kids, activities, food and the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference!
Please come see what March of Dimes, Kankakee County and Bourbonnais have to offer for the runner in you!
Event details and schedule
Run for Babies is a great event for both individual runners, family teams and corporate teams! When you register for the run, you will receive a t-shirt, a chipped bib to track your official finish time with our professional timing company, and you just may win a medal! You have the option of signing up as an individual runner or creating / joining a family or corporate team.
For those teams looking for a little competition, Run for Babies Bourbonnais is hosting a Team Challenge. When a team signs up to run and recruits 10 or more runners on the Active.com site, that team is entered into the Team Challenge. The running times of the 5 fastest runners on that team are averaged together. The Team Challenge team with the lowest time will win the Trophy.
Run for Babies is held in conjunction with March for Babies. We invite runners to partake in all of the festivities. However, separate registration and start times will ensure the two events do not conflict for participating runners and walkers.
Event Parking will be located in the field just east of Perry Farm Park. Official traffic control personnel will direct you.
Registration: 9:00 AM
Start: 10:00 AM
Don't forget! Every registered participant will receive a Run for Babies t-shirt (while supplies last)! Don't wait, register TODAY!
