The park is next to CenturyLink Center off of Teague Parkway. The registration is $25 dollars, and you are guaranteed a shirt if you sign up by October 8th. The Blue Forever Fun Run is a 5K run or walk event that is being organized by Jeremy Hand, senior at Benton High School, as his senior project. Jeremy chose to do this is event because he wants to become a police officer. All proceeds from the event will go to further fund the Blue Forever mission. Here is some background on Blue Forever: Blue Forever, Inc. (501c3) works to increase the awareness for police officer’s safety and to raise funds for donating lifesaving QuikClot Belt Trauma Kits (BTK*) for law enforcement officers throughout the United States. Since October of 2012, Blue Forever has donated over 2,100 QuikClot Belt Trauma Kits valued at over 139,000 dollars to law enforcement officers, and 200 SWAT-T tourniquets the donations have been received by 50 different agencies in 11 states. Funds have been raised from the sale of signature Blue Forever shirts, fundraisers and donations from communities. Blue Forever donates directly to the Sheriff/Chief of the agency. You MUST register by October 8th to be guaranteed a shirt.
On race day, November 5th the race starts at 8:00 A.M., so please arrive early to have plenty time to park and pick up your shirt. Walker Place Park is a public park so the eaarlier you arrive the better parking place you will get. The race will begin at the park and run east over the walk bridge then turn north along Teague Park Way to the halfway point then back along the same path. Please have a form of ID to pick up your shirts. This is a fun run so run or walk as you please. There will be a prize for first place male and female.
